The Pepperl + Fuchs VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 is a compact and efficient AS-Interface sensor/actuator module designed to streamline and simplify connectivity within industrial automation systems. This module is an A/B slave that supports extended addressing, allowing for up to 62 slaves, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
Housed in a slim 22.5 mm width enclosure, the VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 is engineered to occupy minimal space in a switch cabinet while offering robust functionality. It features four inputs and three electronic outputs, with the inputs accommodating both 2- and 3-wire sensors. The module's outputs are powered from an external auxiliary voltage, ensuring reliable operation.
Installation is straightforward, thanks to the module's snap-on mechanism for 35 mm DIN rails in accordance with EN 50022. The VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 also boasts removable and colour-coded terminals for easy identification and maintenance.
For enhanced operational transparency, the module includes a comprehensive set of LED indicators for bus communication, external auxiliary voltage, and the real-time status of inputs and outputs. Additionally, the module is equipped with a watchdog feature that ensures outputs revert to a de-energised state in the absence of communication on the AS-interface cable for more than 40 ms.
The VBA-4E3A-KE-ZE/E2 is designed to be flexible in terms of power supply, allowing the inputs to be powered either internally via the module or through an external voltage source. This flexibility, combined with the module's communication monitoring capabilities and fault indication, makes it a reliable component for optimising control and monitoring tasks in industrial environments.
